4 months - picture overload!

My little guy is growing.  And I swear every day I'm overdosing on cuteness.  I'll let the pictures speak for themselves!

This one's for my friend Julia. :)  She loves cows.

This is how I get dishes done some days!

He can now hold toys and put them in his mouth (or should I say shove them in his face and then get mad?)

With Grandpa.

We had a not so fun Sunday.  Owen woke up at 3 am and threw up.  He kept throwing up, which turned into throwing up bile for 6 hours.  Of course, these things always happen in the middle of the night, on weekends, when the only option is to wait until Monday or go to the ER.  I consulted Dr. Google, who always gives worst case scenario and makes mama worry a lot.  I kept reading about bowel obstructions which made me really nervous.  I would say, ok I'm taking him in. And then he would fall asleep, so I decided to just wait.  And then, he'd wake up throwing up bile again.  Finally, I just decided he's too little for this and I took him to the ER.  His tummy x-ray came back normal.  His blood work came back normal, but I was pretty upset with the phlebotomist.  He did one of them wrong (should have known better) and it messed up the levels, so he had to try another draw.  His veins were just too tiny and it was difficult.  I hated watching him dig around in there trying to find it.  It was the worst part.  It did come back normal though, so we were free to go home. It was probably a 24 hour tummy bug, and he's all better now.  They did tell me it was a good thing I brought him in though.  That's always comforting.  I think one of the hardest parts of being a mom is knowing if you are over reacting or not.

Some funny things that were a result of him being sick:

Derrick had to leave Sunday night, which was a little stressful.  It's always hard to do it all on my own, but that was compounded by having a sick baby.  We had a tender little mercy though, because Owen was happy all day.  In fact, I put him on his play mat and he stayed there, entertained, for a few hours.  I was so grateful because I had a TON to get done, and Halle and Hayden to get to bed, etc.  Owen would play with his toys for a while, stare at the Christmas lights for a while, and then fall asleep right there!  I felt bad that he was a little neglected when he was sick, but he got tons of cuddles after Hayden and Halle went to bed.

Also, Owen is the most un-cuddly baby I've ever seen! It makes me a little sad sometimes, because that's one of my favorite things about little babies.  When he was sick, he laid his head on my shoulder twice!  He lifted it up a little when he saw the camera light, but it was so sweet.  I sat down and didn't move at all until he was finished.  Ah... I love this little boy.   It's amazing how they just fit right in so immediately and you can't imagine your family without them.

2 weeks

This was at 3 months.

4 months

Can you believe he's 4 months, and growing out of size 6-9?  I thought he'd be high on the growth charts, but he's about average for weight and height, but he does have a big head like all my kids.  He's 15 lb 1 oz, and 25.5 inches.
