Trafalga

We met the kids' cousins at Trafalga one day.  It was a good day, which was surprising to be honest.  There were lots of tantrums in the first 45 minutes. They also both climbed up the playplace, got scared, and freaked  out crying.  We couldn't get up to get them. And then Halle peed her pants.  I was ready to go home then, but I'm glad we stuck it out. :)

Halle was too short to go on the rides, but she could go on the carousel as many times as she wanted, and she loved it.

And ok... maybe we just put her in line to try and see if they would let her on the rides.  She was just barely, barely too short.  And how sad would it be if she had to watch Hayden go on the rides and not get to go? ( I can tell you the answer because they don't let pregnant ladies on it either... it's sad.)

She waved every time she went past.

Part of the package we got included dippin dots. They were so confused and kept saying they were sad because they wanted ice cream... until they tried it.

We made pizza the other night.  Please notice the counter behind them!  They helped roll out the dough, and played in the "cauliflower."  That's what Hayden calls it at least. :)  I don't know why they love making these faces lately, but they certainly do it a lot!

Lest you think we've been having too much fun... This is called desperate times call for desperate measures at bedtime.  I'm sort of (I mean REALLY) going crazy lately because of their behavior.  I think it's just summertime and they are taking advantage of the fact that I am slow.  Does anyone else ever feel like you're just guessing all the time?  I really try, but sometimes I feel like I don't know the best way to discipline and teach them.  I'm really trying my hardest, so why aren't they learning?  I just have to keep reminding myself they are kids. They are just kids.  Will it get easier one day?

Looks like you have been having a lot of fun. I was looking into going to Trafalga today... we want to do something fun for the kiddos to help relieve the stress going on right now. And I definitely know what you mean about the not knowing what to do with your kids right now too. I have been struggling with this one... especially when it come to eating food right now. All I can do is pray it's going to get better :)

love the tied doors! Some of my friends had to reverse the handles on their kids doors and lock them from the outside to get them to sleep. No worries, I am sure it will get better soon!

Looks like your sweet family is have a good summer. I love the new house! Wish we lived closer to family as well (AKA UTAH). Don't feel bad about the doors. I've turned the handles around to lock my kids in.

I bought child proof door knob covers and lock Spencer in his room. Spencer can't open them so it works out great. I take it off when he realizes that if he stays in bed he doesn't have to be locked in. Hang in there, I hope it gets better for you.

Maybe we should all plan another playdate and commiserate together while we simultaneously ignore our kids. It's better if more of us do it at the same time, right? ;)

Looks like fun! That is so funny because I got an awesome deal on season passes to Seven Peaks which include both trafalga locations, so we were at the same place yesterday.

I love dippin dots. Yum. That's funny that your kids thought they were getting gipped at first.

So...guessing...yes. All the time. Every kid is different. With each new child and as they grow, family dynamics change. I really don't believe in a one size fits all parenting regime. There are basic fundamentals and the rest is creativity!
