Yesterday after church, Hayden and I made a Valentine's decoration that I saw somewhere on the internet. We just sewed some hearts together and hung it up. He was my helper. My sewing machine has an option to set the maximum speed, so I set it low and let Hayden push the pedal. He decided to just stand on it and hand me the colors.
You can see what it looks like hanging up here. Also, notice my curtains. I finally finished them! I'm quite happy with the way they turned out. I had to change a few things. I had one of those, "oh no, I can't believe I just did that!" moments. I had to cut the green fabric on the sides in half. Then for some reason I thought I had to cut it in half again, so I did. I was planning on having the green hang down all the way in the inside of the windows too. I still had to sew some fabric pieces together, but I made it work and I like it. You really can't see the seam unless you're looking for it. At least that's what I tell myself. :)
Here is a close up of the fabric I used. I had a hard time deciding, but I love this one!
I'm not sure if I've ever posted this picture, but here are the kitchen curtains my mom helped me make.
I also have been making a giant to do list to keep me more organized. I got the idea from my friend, Rachel when she guest posted at Bloom.
I have a page for each day. Every day has a list of the things I do everyday, plus a few extra things to do each day. I also added in a list of things to work on if I have time - the de-clutter list, a shopping list/meal planner, updated budget so I can keep track, and a calendar. The pages are in sheet protectors, and when I finish something I cross it off with a dry erase marker. Then I can wipe it off and start over the next week.
I know some people asked me what was on my list, so here it is:
Everyday:
Make beds
Brush kids teeth am
Clear and wipe bathroom counters
Learning time
1 thing from de-clutter list
Floor time (play time)
Floors picked up as needed
Dishes after dinner
Brush kids teeth ppm
sweep and wipe kitchen counters as needed
scriptures
Monday extras:
wash sheets
wash diapers
read through primary lesson
vacuum
Tuesday:
1 loaf of laundery
toilets
clean microwave (I always forget to do this, so that's why it's on the list)
Wed:
Wash diapers
sweep and mop all floors
work on primary lesson
Thurs:
1 load of laundy
bathroom sinks and mirrors
vacuum
Fri:
Wash diapers
shower and tub
meal plan and grocery list
print out new budget
Sat:
1 load of laundry
grocery shopping
final primary lesson preparation
Sunday only has FHE preparation, Rest/Family time, and scriptures.
It is honestly A LOT to do, and I have never been able to complete everything on the list in one day. Things come up! I'm not hard on myself about it though. These are just goals and I don't expect myself to finish it. It's just a good place to start and helps me stay focused.

I love the list, even if it is a lot to do sometimes I forget simple things that I want to do. I may copy your idea! You are such a fun awesome mom!
Wow I'm impressed! That's quite the list. And I love your curtains. You've done good!
Thanks for posting your list! I am going to copy you. I have done something like this before, but not in sheet protectors that I can cross off.I think that would help me feel better about the days when I feel like I have gotten nothing done.
OOOOOoooOOOO I LOVE your curtains! You are so talented. Plus I think you're living room ones really tie the room together. SO awesome. I also like your Hearts, very cute.
Fun post. I like that organizing idea. So...did I miss something? Are you doing cloth diapers?
Your drapes are SO cute! I love the red ones with the huge black grommets. Is that what they are? THe green ones are nice too. I like how you draped it on one side. Very nice. I wanted to do that felt garland too. Yours turned out cute. I am doing some other things with my felt and I am going to see if I have some left over. I miss you. I wish we could get together and craft or something!
I'm soooo glad you did this post about getting organized. That is my #1 goal for this year, so thanks for the ideas and tips. They are much needed.
And, I llllooooovvveee you curtains!!!!! They are soooo cute! I've been going to make curtains myself, but haven't been brave enough or taken the time to do them. I love both fabrics that you used! I think I need to get off my butt and get crafting.
We miss you and are so glad that you were able to come to our house and visit with us. It was so much fun. I only wish I had taken a picture of all of us together. But at least it's a memory! You're kids are adorable in the picture too! And I like the new look of your blog.
That is such a good idea! I may have to steal it! :)
Erin, you are such a good mommy. So creative and you have your hands full. I just wanted to let you know how special you are to me and thank you for being such a sweet step-daughter to me. <3
Random Thoughts & Adventures & A Few Tales To Boot
I really love the fabric for your curtains, both the green and the red polka dot. Very cute. I totally understand having a hard time picking it out, I took forever to pick out fabric for a purse I made and now, I'm not so crazy about it. Oh well.
Glad you're keeping organized and busy, I have a similar system for cleaning the house I do one thing a day to keep the house looking clean. Like Monday-laundry, Tues-bathroom, Wed-vacuum, Thurs-sweep/mop floors, Fri-dust, clean kitchen sink. Then it actually ends up that I have NO chores on Sat, cuz that's the day you go out the most, but in case something doesn't get done during the week I do it then.
Enough about me. i love your christmas pictures and your Valentine's hearts! So gealous you got to go to Bishop's party, it looked sooo fun!

Thanks for the link! :-)
I also wanted to say on your CD post--I do a cold rinse, cold wash, hot wash, cold rinse. That might help with some of the smell issues (?) Another thing that REALLY makes a big difference for me is a diaper sprayer--Neil just installed a kitchen sink sprayer onto our toilet line. SO much easier, everything gets totally clean before it goes in the diaper pail, and I never have to touch or scrape. :-) Plus it's more "husband-friendly." Email me if you want more details on how he installed it!
LOVE the cute drapes! ..and youre awesome, I really like how much more organized your to-do lists are! Im going to tweak mine :)
