I have been meaning to post about the progress we made every day, but we got so busy I didn't have time. And to be honest, the whole last three weeks area pretty much a blur and I can't remember what we did, really. Here are a few pictures of the last things we did before we moved in, and you can get a sneak peek at the paint colors. I really wish my camera would do justice to these paint colors, but I know they look funny on your screen. Just trust me, it looks amazing here.
While we were working we decided we could get more done if we slept here so we could work when the kids were asleep. We brought over Hayden's mattress, Halle's pack n play, and an air mattress and some couch cushions for Derrick and me. Not the ideal sleeping situation, but it worked. Hayden did really well the first official night in his new room.
Painting the wall above the stairs was quite the project. Luckily I have a really tall husband who owns a ladder. I was still really nervous the whole time he was up there and kept begging him to use at least one hand to hold onto something. He just kept telling me that he had been standing since he was a baby so he was fine.
Finishing up the very last painting. (Ok, not quite, but it was all downhill from here so we were excited.) And yes, we both did a lot of painting with one baby in our arms.
We really like our new ward already. I sat next to two ladies who live in our same subdivision. One of them lives just down the street. It's funny, because they bought the house that we were about to put an offer on, but found out that it had just been sold the day before. We are glad though, because we love our house and we are glad that we have some good neighbors so close by.
Halle had a crazy growth spurt in just a week or so while we moved. She got a new tooth on bottom (in addition to the one on top!) and one about to poke through. She started crawling like a pro and within a few days after that started pulling up on things. She babbles lots of new sounds which is so fun to listen to. This is such a fun age (minus the never wanting to be held or hold still during church.)

How exciting!! I love all the paint colors - that's something I really wish I could paint here! :) I'm so happy for you guys! When does Derrick start school?
Hooray! I am so excited that you are all moved in. I am still jealous that you get to paint and I don't... where did you end up getting your paint from and what colors did you choose? (just because I like that kind of stuff!)
I'm excited to see the finished product!
I'm so glad you like your new ward - we sure do miss you!!
Halle looks like a busy girl - what a sweetheart.
I am so happy for you guys and excited to see all the final pictures.
I'm so glad you're moved into your house finally!! I know it was probably a big pain to travel between the apartment and the house to do all the work, but better that then to live amidst all the work eh?
I love the colors you chose! It totally makes sense to me why they're so bright. I mean after living in apartments with white walls for so long, you're totally ready for LOTS of color! :)
It's crazy how fast kids grow! I've decided I'm officially a mom for thinking and saying things like that. Thought I'd never say such things, but seriously the other day I looked at Erik and almost cried, "Where's my baby go?"
Yay for moving and houses! I am so excited for you guys!!
Beautiful house, beautiful family, CONGRATULATIONS! The paint is awesome (but your husband on the ladder would have completely freaked me out!!). Nicely done!!!
Yay!
HOly Cow Derrick is braver than me any day!
I can't wait to see the finished product. You guys are amazing!
