Hayden is just hilarious. He makes me laugh every day. He's doing and saying so many cute things now. I thought I would share a few.
The other day we were in his room looking out the window. He said, "Mommy, tees off." meaning "Mommy, turn the trees off." huh?? How do you turn the trees off? Turns out he wanted me to shut the blinds so he couldn't see the trees. (I think someone watches too much tv.)
Last night we had some friends over who were moving in down the street. They were really tired from unpacking the truck, and the husband was sitting on the couch rubbing the shoulders of the wife who was on the floor. Hayden gets behind me as I was sitting on the other couch and I realize that he's rubbing my shoulders too. He's so observant and he just copies everyone! I thought it was so funny that he would pick that up. He was just playing and I didn't think he was watching them.
When my mom was here we stayed out a little past bedtime and he was having a rough night. We were driving in the car when he started to have a bit of a meltdown, but he stopped and reminded himself and all of us, "No cwying, k?" And he was done with the tantrum. At least for a minute.
He is so cute with his baby sister. He still loves to hold her all the time even though she is way too big to fit on his lap and won't hold still. His favorite thing in the world is to make her laugh, so if he finds a way to do that he will do it over and over and over. He gets excited to see her in the morning. He giggles and gives her a hug and a kiss, and says, "It's baby! Hi, Ha-yee!" If there is something little on the floor by her he takes it away and says, "No toke!" (Choke). What a good brother!
If he is leaving a room he will say, "A back, K? Bye! Yuh You!" ("Be right back, K? Bye! Love you!")
He really says bye to everything that we pass. "Buh-bye water." when the tub is draining. "Buh-bye light," When we turn them off. "Buh-bye house," When we drive past them.
A long long time ago my friend Delia tagged me with this kid tag, but Hayden was too little to answer me then. I think he can do it now, but I changed the last three questions because they were over his head.
Rules:
Post one picture for each year your child is old. Ask your child to answer each of the questions and record what they say first.
1. What is your favorite animal?: Waff with Gweg. Bye-bye waff. We went to the zoo with his uncle Greg before we left Utah, and he still talks about it. He really loves elephants though.
2. What is your favorite color?: open.. show me. Which means he wants to show me something. He took me to his room and handed me some paper wrapped in plastic and said, Open dis? He wanted to color on it!
3. What is your favorite number?: It's two colors. pointing to to markers on his page he's coloring. That counts, right?
4. What is your favorite song?: Fru town. Wheels on bus. As he does the actions.
5. What is your favorite movie?: watch... um.. elmo.
6. What is your favorite shirt?: Ma-Keen. He loves his lightening McQueen shirt.
7. What is your favorite treat?: show me. And then he took me downstairs to show me! Haha, I guess if I'm the one who brought it up, it would be mean not to give him one. He said I wan some candy, and picked a rice krispie treat. Is nummy.
8. Which is your favorite?: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, or Snack?: Snack. Want some snack?
9. Why? Why some snack. haha. I don't think he understands the question Why yet. (Thank heavens!)
10. What do you miss about Utah?: Grandpa, mountains, and Claire (sidenote to Tannie.. he still talks about her all the time, especially when he's lonely! It makes me want to cry sometimes. So sad.)
11. What is your favorite toy? shoot spekaball. (basketball) honk honk! haha I don't know what that was all about!
12. What is your last name? I'm dinkin. (Drinking) haha.

Oh he's adorable! This was a fun post to read, I will have to do something like this when Addie starts talking :)
He doesn't actually look that different in his one year old and two year old picture. Same smile and all. What a cutie. I love hearing what kids come up with, always good for a laugh.
It is comforting to read your blog and see that he says things the way that he does. Hailey talked so well and in complete sentences at two and sometimes it is sad to admit Hailey has to tell me what Saidey is saying since I just don't understand it all the time. Our Dr. says she is doing fine and she will catch up and asked me if I had listened to other two year olds lately. The other two year olds in our neighborhood talk so much better, but I need to remember not to compare her with them because her words are getting clearer. Hayden is so cute and I love the house work!!!
He is starting to talk a lot, wow! Thanks for all your buttermilk ideas, your range of ideas was quite impressive! I ended up using your ice cube tray idea...thanks again!!!!
What a fun boy. His answers were so cute! What can I say...you have adorable kids! It just proves you are a great mom. I love how he wanted to show you what he couldn't quite say. What a good communicator.
I was a little behind the times, but I did read it today. I loved all this cute answers. Isn't it amazing how much he has grown?
That's so sweet that he talked about Claire. Every time we get the "big" round table cover out for company coming for dinner, she asks where Hayden is going to sit.
*SIGH*
