I'm really just avoiding packing...

We are still so busy. The house is all painted (except for the bead board in Halle's room that needs a final coat) and we have most of the projects done. No pictures yet because the camera got left at the house. There are of course a million little baby projects that still need to be finished, but we are move in ready. Well, except for the fact that we still have to PACK. You know, I swear I just did this. I'm running out of steam!

Although I really wish I had some Mary Poppins power, and I'm quite sick of painting, and I wish we were just in the house already with all our projects done, we had a really fun weekend. My mom came to visit. It was three months since I had seen her so I was so excited. It went by way too fast. She came in Friday night. We showed her the house and then stopped for dinner.
Before bed, we had bath time

After we got Halle out, Hayden thought it should get in the baby bath. I thought he would get stuck. It's funny how he likes to copy everything she does.

I was worried that the kids wouldn't warm up to my mom very fast. Hayden remembers everything though, so he remembered her and loved her. Halle cried at first because she has stranger anxiety, but warmed up quickly. I'm so glad. It made me sad to think that my kids would forget my family and not be as close as the rest of the grandkids, but I think it will all be fine.

The next day we went to the house and worked all day. I can't believe how much easier it is to work without kids needing you all day! They all had so much fun just playing and we got lots done. That night we stopped and got some fabric to make curtains. I couldn't have my mom here without taking advantage of her amazing sewing skills! Pictures to come when they are all hung.

My mom got us (Hayden) a house warming gift. It's a welcome puppy for our front porch, but Hayden likes to carry it around and love it. He had to get his other dog for the picture too.

Sunday was church and then we went to show my mom the city.

We went to Purdue campus where we could not resist running through the fountains, because it was the absolute hottest day I have felt here yet. Then we walked over the Wabash, which Hayden has taken to calling, "Wash-ash," and somehow knows when we are going to cross it now. It was just too hot, so we went home and had dinner. Monday we got up later than normal for some reason, and went to work on the house. We finished most of our projects and then worked on curtains. When I looked at the clock I couldn't believe it was already so late! That day went by so fast. We went out to eat again and got ice cream for FHE.

Look how BIG she is!! (and please ignore my lovely painting clothes, which you can see have been put to good use)

And look at this pathetic sight.
This is what grew from my garden this year. Nice huh? No, it's not supposed to be a roma or a grape. It's supposed to one of those big slicing tomatoes. And there is only one other one on the plant. I also planted a squash plant that just stopped growing and didn't produce anything. Better luck next year, when I can actually plant in the ground instead of in containers.

So that's all for now. I can't wait to be able to show pictures of the new house all finished, but that will have to wait! Better get back to packing... sigh.

What a fun week. I love it when my mom comes to visit. It's nice to have that "mom" time. I also have to say... at least you got 2 tomatoes. The last time I tried I only got ONE! It was so sad... I was leaving it on the plant for as long as I could just so I could enjoy seeing a tomatoe and my cousin's daughter picked it!

That is so nice that your mom came to visit! I am so glad things are coming together, but sad that you still have to pack. You must be so exhausted! You amaze me.

I can't wait for you to start your garden in the ground. It is MUCH better!
