Hayden's First Near Death Experience

But first I get to tell you that my kids are the cutest. I don't care what you say, I think my kids are cuter than anyone else's.

Even when they cry.

He always goes to sit right next to her, and if she's not sitting in the boppy he takes it over. Today he decided they should read stories together.

He still likes to hold and kiss her.

Hayden almost got hit by a car today. It was terrifying. It seriously was so close. We were leaving our house. I went to take Hayden's hand, but he ran out the door past me, straight into the road. Of course, there had to be an SUV coming at that exact second. I yelled at him to stop like I have never yelled before. We are so lucky that the lady had her window down so she could hear me screaming and she could stop. When I got to him he was in the middle of the road just feet away from her. I yanked him to the side of the road, and after I got done yelling at him (and apologizing to the lady in the SUV) I held him and cried and cried. (yes I yelled... you would have too) Now he says, "There's cars. Hurt me! Mommy cry. Sorry, mommy." We were both a little traumatized. I'm for sure counting my blessings today.

P.S. I get 30 hits on my blog a day. Who are you!? Leave a comment if you read...I promise I won't think you are weird if I didn't know you were reading.

I think your kids are pretty adorable too. I can't even imagine what it felt like to see Hayden come so close to getting hit. I am glad he is safe. So scary!

Your kids are cute...! Hayden looks a lot like Derrick.
I know exactly how you are feeling. When I lived in Salina, we had just gotten done shopping at the store and my little boy started running away from me when I went to put him in his car seat and almost got hit by a coal truck. My reaction was the exact same as yours.

Your kids are pretty cute! I don't blame you for yelling and crying, I don't know what I would do if something were to happen to Alli. I am soo glad everything worked out as it did! Hopefully now he'll stay out of the road!

That is so scary! I am so glad he's ok. I think I would still be crying. I hate experiences like that. Hopefully he'll remember you yelled at him and not do it any more. Some things I think deserve it! (ok, not in the bad way, but so they KNOW that its important.)
You're kids are too cute! I love the kisses, and how he likes to play with Halle so much. It's so cute!

I'm glad he didn't get hurt...maybe the trauma of it will remind him never to run into the street again. So glad things ended up okay!

Scary! Oh and I'm one of your readers (obviously, haha) but I do it through reader. Not sure if that comes up on the tracker or not. I've always wondered...

Oh my goodness - that makes me cry even just thinking about it (and I'm not kidding). I guess I'm just emotional today - not enough sleep. Too many days on vacation....

By the way - you are supposed to say that your kids are the cutest, and every other mom is supposed to disagree with you! :)

That is like one of my biggest fears! Madison always tries to be so independant and although we've tried teaching her to look both ways and to not go out in the road without us it obviously STILL happens anyway. I'm glad that lady had her window down though!!!!!

Wow- that is really scary. I hate those slow motion moments when you know there is nothing you can do- I'm so glad he's safe.

And you called me on it! I've been checking in on your little cuties since we met them!

Gosh Erin it has been a while since I have checked your blog and now I remember why! I have been bawling reading everything you have to say. I miss you guys so much! I miss the great talks that we have. I miss the encouragement you give me when I am having a hard day being a mom. It has been so hard being in an area where I don't have anyone to talk to that understands what I am going through. We just need to call and e-mail more. I will try to be better. Anyways it looks like you guys are having fun out there. I hope all is well! We love you guys!!

How scary. That is cute how Hayden can describe how he understands what happened. I am SO GLAD he is okay. I just know there has to be guardian angels watching over these little ones.
