What is this?

It's what remains of the paper chain we made to count down to closing day on our house! We can't wait until Friday! Then starts the fun stuff... First comes painting the kitchen so we can get the appliances installed to make it easier to live in two places while we finish the rest. Then we have a ton of cleaning to do because it's been vacant and winterized for so long. Next comes patching and painting the entire rest of the house, painting cupboards in kitchen and bathrooms, cleaning carpets, putting in towel hooks, putting in covers for the light switches and electrical outlets (since the previous owners took them), servicing the furnace, installing vents pipes and stuff so we can put the washer and dryer upstairs, installing a garage door opener, installing blinds, and I'm sure the million other things that will come up. That doesn't even include packing the apartment, moving, unpacking, and how hard it's going to be for our poor children who will not be getting adequate attention. WOW, it sounds like a ton of work when I sit and think about it, but I'm still so excited anyway. It will be fun work.

The weather here is AMAZING. It hasn't been too hot lately. The last couple of nights we just had to be outside because the weather was so great we couldn't stand to be inside. It feels like spring. We set up the pool on Monday night. It's kind of a hard pool to set up because it won't stay up until it's full of water, so Hayden had to wait a long time to get in. He was getting impatient to swim, but Derrick solved that by squirting him with the hose while he ran around the yard. His clothes were soaked, but he had a blast.

Halle sat outside with us and enjoyed watching her brother run around like a crazy person.

When it was finally ok for him to get in, he was way too cold to stay in for very long.

But that was ok, because he just got in again the next day, and had tons of fun.

He loves our next door neighbors. He was lucky enough to play on the trampoline with them on Friday. (Derrick broke three springs off their tramp, which I thought for sure would shoot out and hit someone in the eye, but that's a whole other post, I guess.) (Did I just say hit someone in the eye? I sound like a mom or something.)

Halle is getting SO close to crawling. She gets up on all fours and rocks. Today she even went forward a little. We were hoping she could crawl by the time we moved into our new house so she could be a little more entertained while we worked. I guess she has five more days to get it perfect. :D

Yay, totally jealous of the weather. It's way, way too hot here. And I think trampolines are great...even though they can be semi-life-threatening. :)

We need a little pool like that... yet again... we need a backyard first! :) That is awesome that Halle is almost crawling, I don't think Linus every will.
