Amen!

Hayden prays now! It's so cute. It started at dinner. When we would put the food in front of him he just folded his arms and started talking in this serious voice and then gave his little me-me! which is his version of amen. Now he just does it all the time. I love it. I had to get it on camera because this is one thing I don't want to ever forget. What a funny kid. I wish I knew what was going on in his mind all the time.

We are really bad at taking pictures now. I realized that we have taken hardly any pictures since Halle was born. Here are the few we have taken since I complained to Derrick that we aren't doing enough.

Bath time. Derrick always takes pictures at angles like this. I guess it's natural to him since he's so tall. It really is a different view up there :)
My mom got a Cricut expressions for Christmas, which is basically the same but it has a mat that is 12 x 24 instead of 6 x 12. So we made this vinyl thingy for the wall above our bed. Cute huh? It only cost $10 too.

Hayden has done so incredibly well at having a new sister. He is actually more well behaved than when I was pregnant. He started sleeping better and not testing us quite so much. He is really sweet to his sister and always gives her hugs and kisses. He keeps asking to hold her and I try to let him every time. This was at bedtime last night when we had just got the kids dressed.

Awake in the swing.

What happened to my good sleeping baby? I'm exhausted. She was doing so well. She still only wakes up every four hours, but it takes an hour for her to get back to sleep. She is so fussy and just cries the whole hour between spitting up (which she does as much as Hayden did) and having hiccups. I was just sure that we were dealing with another reflux baby because she chokes and gags like Hayden did. She doesn't cry as much as he did, but she still gets really fussy everytime she eats. We saw her doctor today and he said to stop feeding her so much. I was a little shocked! I guess I didn't realize I am an overproducer and she was just eating too much. That's the hard thing about nursing. You have no idea exactly how much milk they are getting. You just have to guess by times and by how much they are gaining. She had gained a pound in about 10 days which is a lot! So hopefully just feeding her on one side per feeding and giving her a binky instead of letting her suck for comfort will help because I am running off of 5 hours of very interrupted sleep.

That is adorable! The "amen" that's so funny too because just yesterday I was so excited Jack said amen for the first time! Literally one of the only words he says. Halle is beautiful, and you're such a good mom!

That is so cute. I love it when older siblings love the babies. I love the words on your wall too. I have the same cricut as your mom. Where did you get the vinyl? I really want to do stuff like that but I don't know what or where to find it. Your little Halle is so darling. I am going to love it when Andrew starts talking, and I haven't even thought of praying. That is so precious.

Ive missed your posts! :)

Hayden is so cute! Im glad he's been so good for you, and loving being a big brother!

Its so weird for me to see small babies now... seems like Addie is HUGE!! I had the same breast feeding problem. Addie gained over a pound in ten days too...and was always really chubby... after I started pumping (after she got so sick and couldnt eat for a while) and then since (she's on formula now) its easier to see/control how much she gets. I swear this girl will eat ANYTHING and as much as possible!!

Goodluck with the sleeping! :)

How cute, I love his little prayer! Your daughter is beautiful-I hope what the doctor said works. I am ready for my baby to be here, but I am not excited about the nights. Its been 2 years since i've had to deal with taking care of a baby in the middle of the night. I love your blog, its so cute! I saw on facebook that you had a blod and decided to check it out. Hope you don't mind-

Sleeping thing ... so hard and I feel you pain, you know I do!! I still win with the fat baby contest - Linus gained 4 pounds in 4 weeks in his first month of life. (After he left the NICU that is).

Wow, that view makes Halle look teeny tiny! Hayden's prayer is so cute! It's amazing how fast they grow up once they have a little sibling. It forces them to mature, that's for sure!

So has feeding her less worked? The Baby Whisperer said that could often be a problem if the baby wasn't on a routine. Even though Mira has been perfect, she did not start sleeping through the night until I introduced a binky to her a month ago, at five months old! She only gets it at sleep time, but it made a huge difference. That's not really advice, but I was just amazed at how much of a difference it has made! Good luck figuring things out with Halle!

I know what you mean about the pictures. You just don't have time. Reid's first bath picture is one of his like 8th bath. Whoops.

I am sorry about the sleeping thing. I hope things get better and feeding her less works.

Hayden is so cute with Halle. How sweet. Isn't it wonderful how much your joy and love multiplies with the number of children you have?

Hayden praying is so cute! He's such a sweet boy, especially with his lil sister.
Hopefully the Dr. is right and Hallie eats better for you! I remember that Erik went through a phase where he took awhile to get back to sleep after the night feeding. We put him in the swing in our room-he was happy and safe there, and we slept. At that point I didn't care about using up the battery, I just wanted sleep! Ya know? We miss you guys. Reading about Tannie's B-day party makes me really miss all of you!!!!
