Busy Week

Last week was pretty crazy. Last Saturday night we threw an engagement party for some close friends of ours who are getting married next month. Derrick is really close with his high school friends, and all the wives have really become close too, so we like to get together when we can. They all came up and stayed at our house. There were 13 people in my house and 5 of them stayed the night.

We started with dinner. Soup and bread bowls! Yummy. It took three tables to fit us all. My house is not that big so you can imagine that it was pretty cozy. I think this picture is hilarious. If you click on it you can see that Garek and Julia were totally meant for each other. :) (The couple at the top left of the picture) Hayden and I didn't fit in the picture.

I made these yummy cupcakes! They are like a yummy version of ding-dongs, or whatever they are called. I just used a cake mix though, because I like to keep it simple. Next time I would use milk chocolate instead of semi sweet for the ganache though. (Yes, I made ganache! That's why they are so shiny.)

Then we went to Provo twice! The first time was for the funeral on Tuesday. That night it was back to Logan so Derrick could take a test and I could throw a baby shower on Wednesday. Then Thursday we went back down for because it was fall break. We had a game night with my brothers, saw a bunch of friends we hadn't seen in forever on Friday, and Saturday I had a mini baby celebration with my family before we went back home!
Here I am at 28 weeks feeling ginormous. That went by really fast.

We started our baby celebration off by getting pedicures. Here is my gorgeous niece with the colors she picked. Isn't she pretty? She was an adorable little baby and now she is a very beautiful girl.
I think she ended up with bright purple and some cute flower decorations on it.


I was the first done so here are the rest of the girls! So relaxing. I love pedicures, even though they always laugh at me because my feet are really ticklish. We then ate at Smokehouse, which I think my husband would love. And then we got to do the really fun stuff and shopped at Babies R' Us. I have had a hard time finding girly things I like. I guess I'm too picky. I always find myself automatically looking at cute boy things though! But I finally got some really cute girly things and I'm getting more excited. Now I have pink (even though I thought I would never get pink), and bracelets, and headbands. :) I think my favorite thing I got were these cute socks. They look like the baby is wearing little mary janes! So fun. They were at a kiosk in the University Mall.


So now I'm 29 weeks. We realized last night that if she comes as early as Hayden did, that I only have 7 weeks left. WOW.
