Hayden is going to be a big brother!

We are expecting baby #2! We are very excited! (and a bit nervous... I just started being able to sleep through the night again!) We had our first appointment today and everything is going well. We heard the heartbeat and it was 176. My due date is Dec. 31, and my doctor said since I was almost 4 weeks early with Hayden, that this baby will probably also come early. It looks like we will be staying home for Christmas this year. Hayden and the new baby will be 21 months when this baby comes.

So here are some ultrasounds... It still looks a bit like a sea creature at this point.



I have not been feeling so well, and although I haven't thrown up I have certainly felt like it. I am exhausted and nauseated all day, and it's harder this time with chasing a toddler. But overall, I guess I am lucky that it's not worse. In fact, my doctor mentioned today how smooth my last pregnancy was and that I didn't have any problems with delivery either... although I paid for it dearly with a colicky/reflux baby.

And here is where I brag about my sweet husband a little, and give him a big THANK YOU!!! He is so understanding and he does so much. After a long day at work, he usually comes home, takes Hayden so I can rest while he does the dishes and makes dinner! What an amazing guy! He works so hard and does whatever he can to help and make me happier. I know it's exhausting for him and he never gets a break, so THANK YOU DERRICK!! I love you!

I am sure this is not news to most of you. This pregnancy was a lot harder to keep a secret, because, well, I can't keep secrets. Last time the only thing that stopped me from telling everyone was that I lived in a different state. So, that's our exciting news this week.

And can you believe my garden is still dug up!!! They actually dug it up a bit more and ruined more plants. I watered the few plants that are left to try to save them. I can't wait until they fix it because I think we are going to get some starts and try to replant what we can.

Hayden is also doing some really cute things lately, so I will try to get some videos of it, which is really hard because when he sees the camera he stops. His new thing is "reading" books to us, and "singing" from the hymn book, both of which he does really loudly and during church. It's hard to stop him even though I'm sure he is a distraction because it's so adorable! Can someone please tell me how you survive this age during church??? Derrick or I usually miss the whole third hour because of him screaming. 3 more months until we can put him in nursery! We can't wait!
