One Month Old!

Yesterday Owen was a month old!  He's gained 4 pounds since birth, so he's 12 pounds now!  Sheesh!

Here he is 2 weeks ago modeling a fleece soaker a friend made for me.

He's just so cute we want to eat him!

He's focusing a lot on our faces, which is fun.  I keep trying to convince him to smile, but he's stubborn I guess.

And these are pictures I took today, so you can actually see his size.  He grows so fast I just can't keep up!

He's a good baby.  He's not as mellow as I thought.  Don't get me wrong, he's nothing like colick Hayden but he lets himself be heard if he's not happy. He's actually a really light sleeper too, which I'm sure you can guess is great when you have a big brother and big sister in the house.  I'm still off dairy, but I really can't decide if that's a problem.  It seems like every night at midnight he just gets fussy and cries for about an hour until he can fall asleep.  I think he just knows when I am soooo close to falling asleep and can't let that happen.

Other stuff we've been up to:
red crayon in the dryer
I actually opened it, saw what had happened, and closed it and pretended for a few hours that it didn't really happen.
But I had to face it when the laundry started piling up.

I was NOT happy.
But what can you do?  Accidents happen.  I learned when we moved and the moving guy spilled my scentsy all over my bathroom sink, that you should use your blowdryer in situations like that.  Melts it off, and then you wipe it.  The color won't come off, but it doesn't get on my clothes.  I confess, I still have a laundry basket of red colored clothes that I need to stain remove, but I just can't get myself to do it cause I'm afraid I'll cry when I find that they are just ruined.

Derrick's brother and his girlfriend (his brother's girlfriend... not Derrick's. :)  ) came to visit and see the baby, and everyone went for a bike ride.  I walked.

I'm always so impressed with how well Halle does when we go on bike rides.

Group shot!

I really loved her in this hat.  It kept falling in her face so she was riding around blind.  She finally put it on backwards.  So cute.
 Dinosaur or lion?
me and Owen.  I love my ring sling!

Hayden already knows all his uppercase letters, so we've been trying to teach him lower case.  For a while we practiced a new one every night at bedtime.  I was so impressed with these ones!  The top line is Derrick's, the second is Hayden's, and the rest are Halle's.  Keep in mind this is Hayden's first time ever writing that letter, and that Halle is 2.5 and still just scribbles.

Here he is practicing the letter n.  I believe Halle's was the third line down. Not bad!  And I love Hayden's eyes so much.

Playing trains in the morning.  For a few weeks, Derrick has been getting the kids up and fed breakfast so I can sleep in a little longer.  Then they watch a movie and make a ginormous mess everywhere after he leaves for work.

Here they are this morning, singing their version of praise to the man, while they waited for Hayden's new buddy to show up to play.

I wish my little Aubrey would start gaining some weight. She is still stuck at 8 pounds! 3 months and only 8 pounds! Goodness. Your little Owen is adorable. I still want to meet him sometime!

I can't believe Owen is already a month old. Seriously time goes by way too fast. And already 12 pounds?! Good for him, but a pain for you to have to lug him around! Shasta is 4 months and only 10 pounds. Your kids are adorable! I love all the pictures you post.

Owen is so cute - he looks like Hayden I think. I'm sorry he isn't sleeping well! Linus was 12 1/2 pounds at 2 months (and he was only 6 lbs when he was born - he gained 4 lbs in 4 weeks just like Owen). Chunky babies are cute, but it is alarming how fast they can grow and I always miss the TINY package. :(

Hayden is SUPER good at his handwriting. Claire is smart - she's known her letters upper and lower and sounds for years, but her handwriting is terrible. She can't form r's like that!!

I agree, Hayden has exceptional penmanship. Probably gets it from his Dad too. He has pretty nice writing too {I know this sounds sexist but especially for a guy!}. Halle does well herself I might add. :)

So we've had crayon in the dryer. Sigh. I feel for you. Ours was blue. It did eventually come out. For the life of me I can't remember what we used but it didn't get it all off anyway. Just after many months it started fade from the dryer. I hope that's true for you guys too. We just wore blue socks for awhile, but because it was our whites load {thank goodness} we bleached it all out eventually. Good luck with it!
