Picture Overload!!

Are you ready to see our few weeks in pictures? Are you sure?  Cause there are a lot.  Here we go.

Derrick says don't you know the devil lives in the water on Sunday?  Or something like that.  It was harmless really. :)  I decided to give my hanging basket flowers a little soak while we were enjoying the weather one Sunday afternoon.  Hayden got a little splashed, and well, you can imagine how he got to this:

I love spontaneous things like this.  Who cares if his shoes got soaked, he had a blast.  And it's actually quite fun to squirt your kid with a hose.

And then there was the kite day.  See for yourself.
I think this one needs to hang on my wall somewhere.  Possibly in black and white to hide Hayden's mismatched clothes. :)
While he did this, Halle played with the beloved front porch dog and ran around in bare feet.
And then she took a turn while Hayden ran around hitting things with sticks in true little boy fashion.
And then she found the sidewalk chalk.
And I kept myself entertained with my camera and these fluffy clouds.
And my flower beds.
And Halle's silly faces.

What a fabulous way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

And now for a cute story.  Halle fell off the couch one day and cried.  Hayden, who is always concerned for everyone else, wanted to help his baby sister.  "Oh Halle, it's ok, it's ok. You ok?  You want a baby?  I get you a baby."  And he zoomed up the stairs to find his baby sister's favorite baby doll to comfort her.

Derrick and I sat in the living room telling stories about what a sweet boy Hayden can be.

He's always showing me how soft he can hold his stuffed bears.  He lays them down in his bed to sleep, shuts the door, and tells us all we need to be quiet so they can sleep.

If you ever lay down on the couch or floor Hayden will ask you if you're tired. "You tired Mommy?  You wanna sleep? Here, I get you a blanket.  You need a blanket?"  And no matter how many times you tell him you don't need one, he will always always get you one.  He even went all the way downstairs and brought me back a blanket and pillow once when I lied on the floor upstairs.  And for no reason except that he loves me.

He is so very very affectionate.  Often coming up to give hugs and kisses and I love yous for no reason.  I absolutely love love love this.  That is my love language for sure.

So we were telling these stories and all the sudden we hear Hayden screaming for help. Derrick ran up stairs and I could hear laughter.

Like mother, like son, I guess.  Those cribs can be tricky.

But he did succeed in getting the baby out of the crib.  Baby sister was very grateful.
Kisses and hugs.
I'm sorry, I know other people's kids are sorta cute sometimes, but mine are the cutest EVER.

Yesterday was one of those days I just wanted to freeze time.  Mostly because my house was so incredibly clean from working hard all day Saturday.  It's a good feeling that I know won't last long.  And my kids were so sweet.  Both pretty much begging to help Daddy do the dishes.  How he gets them to do it so willingly I will never know.

My kids are at such fun ages.  I love all the new experiences I get being a mom. Their mom.  I have my ups and downs with my identity as a mother, but right now is an up. I'm blessed!
And just because I had to include some random pictures, including Hayden's "house" he built.  He was so proud and told me I had to get the camera.  I think he must have seen me do that at some time or other when he did something funny. :)

This is what I'm hoping my house and family will look like soon, as soon as we aren't living out of boxes anymore!

Enjoy these moments. That's what life is all about.

I'm going to have to agree with you in that your kids are the cutest kids EVER! What kind of camera are you using? Your pictures are so pretty and they look professional.

Aw, thanks Kelsey. I actually use a crappy point and shoot canon powershot. One day in the distant future I will get a nice camera, and maybe I will be good since I can get semi-decent ones out of a crappy camera.

The crib story totally made me laugh out loud, literally. Definitely like mother like son!

Cool kite picture! Don't underestimate the power of a point and shoot camera right?

It sounds like life is charming with your adorable kids!
