Happy Birthday to Grandma Jean!

Happy Birthday to my mom! I seriously have an amazing mom. Lately, I hear myself talking to Hayden and I sound exactly like my mom! It freaks me out a little, but she is a good mom, so I guess I'm ok with that. :D

My mom is the sweetest person. I was thinking today that there is a lady in my ward who looks sort of like her, but my mom is sweeter. The lady in my ward is a very nice person, but my mom just has such a sweet personality. She makes everyone around her feel comfortable because she doesn't judge them. She is a good and loyal friend to everyone and is constantly thinking about other people's feelings.

She has always been there for me and always been someone I could talk to. I remember a few times in high school that I just felt like she was my only true friend, the one I could go to who would love me no matter what. I remember a particularly hard day when I was a senior. I can't remember the reason, but I was so sad. I had my hand on the doorknob of my last class but I was about to break down, and I thought, I just can't do this... I need my mom. So I drove to her work and just cried to her and I immediately felt better, because I was with someone who loved me. There were many times growing up where I just felt like I needed to talk, so we would go for rides at night, just the two of us. I'm so blessed to have had a person like her in my life to support me.

My mom is funny. We always laugh when we are together. She tells corny jokes with my step-dad and tells me about her embarrassing moments. (tic-tac, anyone?) She loves her family more than anything, especially her grand kids. Whenever I call her she tells me all about all the things everyone at home is doing and how proud she is of them, and how she worries about them too.

She has helped me so much as a mom too. I remember after Hayden was born and she came to stay with me to help. It was hard having this new little one to learn all about, and when he would get frustrated I would too. She was so good at calming us both down. Now whenever I have a question I can call her and she will help me and give me advice. She has recieved many phone calls from me wondering if I should take a kid to the hospital because he fell and hit his head, if I should take the other one in because her big brother picked her up and dropped her, what was too high of a fever. I don't know what I would do without her!

She is multi-talented. She sews very well and makes some very cute stuff. She taught me too, and although I'm too impatient to sew really, some of my favorite memories are of her teaching me to make doll clothes. I'm so glad I never had sisters so I didn't have to share her with them! She is so crafty and loves to create things. She's a Stampin' Up! consultant and makes the cutest cards ever. Everytime I go there she loves to show me the newest stuff she has made. I love to see her excitement about it. It's also wonderful to have someone who has all the scrapbook stuff you could ever want. (seriously.. when I moved out she turned my room into a scrapbook room, and it spilled out into another bedroom and a family room! It's amazing.)

So Hayden sings Happy Birthday really well. Halle helped too, in her own special way.

Happy Birthday Mom! We love you lots! Hope it was a great day! We miss you and can't wait to see you THIS WEEK! YAY!

Your mom sounds like a sweet lady. I too have a very special relationship with my mom, and don't know what I would do without her. It's amazing how they can say nothing at all and make you feel so much better. I love Hayden and Halle's song too! So fun.
