Tornado Watch!

We have a tornado watch tonight... I really hate this. The tornado sirens went off the first or second week we were here and so now every time we have thunderstorms I freak out a little. Tonight there actually is a tornado watch so I'm really freaking out. I'm so glad we have a basement. Don't worry though, I'm sure we will be fine. Derrick thinks it's exciting. He just opened the windows so we can see all the lightning. I'm not one of those people who thinks it's exciting. I'm grateful to know there are people whose jobs are to make sure that we are warned about the storms. Even if those sirens strike fear in my heart.

Ok, so I know I'm being a bit dramatic. To take my mind off it, here are some cute pictures of the kiddos.

I caught Hayden mid fall. He was jumping off the red thing behind him. Luckily he was not hurt.

And just cause he's cute. He has a thing for his tongue... In our last family pictures we could not get one of him smiling without his tongue sticking out.

Halle is a chunker, which I know is probably hard for some to believe because she was so skinny when we left. We measured the kids' thighs, and hers are actually bigger than Hayden's!

This is the funny face she makes sometimes and yells.

Daddy daughter time!

That's not dramatic! I'd be nervous too. :) Halle is such a dollface - I think she is probably a lot taller than Linus, he is a short chub! I also like the picture of Hayden falling back.

I remember my dad telling me about tornadoes he lived through in Arkansas, and I don't think you are being dramatic at all. Love the pictures of the kids!

oh my goodness how scary! I would be freaking out. I'd want to put my whole house in the basement. Your kids are growing up so fast!

Yeah for a basement! :) I went and stayed with my sister in Dallas in December, and while I was there the tornado sirens went off. Her hubby was outside watching for it almost the whole time (crazy), and we got all the kiddos and sat between the garage and the stairs. Her daughter who is 8 was freaking out and crying, and inside I was totally freaking out too! Especially as I looked at all the ceiling to floor windows that lined the back of their house! So I am totally with you! But basements ARE much safer! Sorry to have to go through that! I used to hate the thunderstorms we had in Texas when I lived there when I was little, but after a while you get used to them and now I love thunderstorms...I'm sure it will get easier...and hopefully exciting. ;) (cross your fingers right?!) Anyway, I hope I'm not making it worse! p.s. We sang church/primary songs while we waited for it to pass...I like to think it was to help Mikaela calm down, but it really calmed me down too!

Your kids are SO cute! and so funny! I love the daddy daughter time! Dads just have a way of hanging out with kids and I love getting pictures of it too!

You are not dramatic at all! I've told you before that tornadoes scare me so much. We've had tornado warnings (and actual tornadoes) since we've lived here, but it's highly unusual. I've still yet to actually see one, though, thank goodness. People definitely start freaking out here over the watches and warnings because we're not used to them at all.

The pictures of the kids are so adorable!
