Go Boilermakers

Well, it has been decided. We are moving to Indiana! We (really just Derrick) were unsure for a while because he really liked his trip to Delaware. Look for the city Lafayette on the map above. That's where we are going!

We sort of had a change of plans though... We were planning on working here for the summer and moving in the fall, but that didn't work out. Last Tuesday, Derrick found out that he didn't get the internship that we were counting on, so we started the job hunt. I looked for jobs in Utah online, and he emailed everyone we knew in Indiana. Six hours later he heard back from a professor and was offered a research position for the summer. We spent the next couple days finding an apartment and getting ready to move! This is a pretty big shock because we were not expecting to leave for about five more months, and now we are leaving in one! Everything has just been falling into place, and we feel like this is where we need to go. We are really excited! I did start tearing up about twelve times in church yesterday when I thought about leaving all my best friends there and our families. Hayden keeps asking for grandpa (which one? who knows? all of them I guess.) and his friend Claire. It's going to make me so sad when he starts asking for them in Indiana because we won't be able to come visit nearly as often.

So our move out date will be May 11, which is 4 weeks from today. Derrick and my dad will drive the moving trucks and our car out and I will be flying with the kids and my mother-in-law later that week. Wow. Here we go.

P.S. if you want to know why the mascot is called Boilermakers (which I thought was the dumbest mascot ever... maybe besides Beet Diggers hehe) go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Purdue_Boilermakers

I sure enjoyed watching Hayden the other day! He's such a cute little boy. I'm sad to think that you guys are leaving. Another familiar face will be gone, but I'm excited for you that you will be moving on to something better. Let me know if I can help you with anything while you're packing. I can watch Hayden and/or Halle or just anything.

Good luck. I am glad we have blogs to keep in touch though. Why the jab on the BeetDiggers. It was a very cool mascot to have.

Well, I seem to be the only one thrilled with the move! But of course it's because you'll be closer to us! However, I am genuinely sad for you to have to leave your friends and family behind. I know how hard that can be, but I'm hoping the move will allow us to visit more easily than we would have been able to otherwise.

Oh my gosh! I cried reading this. I know we don't get together that much now that we moved but just knowing we were close was great! We should really try to get together one more time! Let me know the date that you are leaving so that we can plan something before you go! I LOVE YA!

Wow, that made me tear up. I know that I don't live close to you guys, or see you guys that often as it is, but still. I know what it is like to move away from friends, the best part is making new friends. We are exciting for you guys.
