ARE YOU KIDDING ME??

Let me tell you about how my day has gone so far. It started bright and early (just before 7 am) when Hayden woke up, so I had to get up. I hate daylight savings time. (Have I mentioned that Hayden wakes up usually between 6 and 6:30, unless I try to use him as an alarm clock, and then he doesn't wake up until 7:30, so I'm late?) So I put on Signing Time and we listened to it a million times while I tried to half-sleep on the couch and Hayden ran around making a huge mess of the place. Later he learned how to put things in the toilet! YAY. While I took a shower, Hayden pulled every single thing out of the bathroom drawers. After my shower, I was brushing my hair in the bathroom when I heard a really weird noise that I hadn't ever heard before coming from my room. I have been making baby bracelets lately, and just bought some new beads. I put them in their container in a tupperware box, up high on a table in my room so Hayden couldn't get into it if he happened to find a way to crawl up and get to it. Well, he got to it. And he somehow opened the box, opened the container, and dumped the new beads on the floor RIGHT OVER THE HEATER VENT! So they are mostly gone. I sent him to his room while I cleaned the few that were left, so he would be out of my hair. He found a box of wipes and opened the lid. When I walked in every wipe was out of the box and on his floor. (At this point Hayden had successfully made a huge mess in every single room of the house today, and I'm not exaggerating.) I decided to laugh instead of freaking out so I went and got the camera. The memory card was full, so I pushed the button to look at the pictures, but I accidentally DELETED EVERY SINGLE PICTURE!

Have I mentioned it's only 11 am?? I cannot wait to see what the rest of this day brings.

Before this sounds too much like complaining, let me just say that I will soon be able to laugh about this and that there is still nowhere I would rather be than home with Hayden.

UPDATE: 1:00 PM.

Here is a picture of the destruction.

How did I get a picture? Because HE DID IT AGAIN! We went upstairs to change his diaper. I got distracted and he got into my room again. I heard a now familiar sound and when I ran into my room he was bent over, pouring the beads right into the vent! He did it on purpose! AHHHHH. If anyone wants a baby, I will sell him to you.

I am so sorry. I would be crying...hard.

I hope you have a better day.

There are those days when I wish I had a huge play pen I could put Owen in and let him just go and not have to worry all the time about what he is getting into.

Oh erin I am so sorry!!!! I have been in the same boat lately with Madison and I know how hard it can be. You love them so much but you can't help but being angry. I have a feeling though that this is just the beginning of a long 18 years. Aren't you grateful that they are cute?

Oh wow! I hope your day got better after that! If you ever need a break for a nap or something I could help with, let me know! - I remember being waaaaaaay tired when I was pregnant, and it made me have a harder time with every little thing. :)

Good grief!!! I'm glad you can see the humor in it, because I would either be bawling or causing destruction!

I am so sorry, sounds like you handled it well. Just wait until you have two going at the same time. I think I have everything under control with one childs mess until I see the mess the other one has made and what makes it worse is they both want to mother the baby, so I have to keep him in my sights at all times. I guess we learn to let things go here and there. I love being a mom!!!

Hehe, I'm not buying babies just now - I have my hands full. I can't believe what a mess Claire makes these days. No matter how often I tell her to stay out of things. . . GRRRR! It's even worse with Linus, I just can't watch her every second. It sounds like Hayden and Claire are in the same mold.
