It's been forever since I have written anything. We have been very busy and I just uploaded my pictures from my camera! So here we go. (if you make it to the end you will be happy you did!)
24th of JulyWe went to Derrick's parents' house for the weekend after the 24th. We had a family reunion and just hung out for a while. It was a short trip though. His parents now have this turtle on their front lawn! I forget his name, but I think it was something along the lines of Doc. I couldn't pass up taking pictures with Doc. Here is what Hayden thought of the whole thing:
This is Derrick's cute sister in a parade in Fairview. She is the 1st attendant of the Miss Sanpete Sweethearts (royalty)! We are really excited for her. This is her horse, Sky. She has a great love of horses and knows pretty much everything about them. Once you get her talking about them, you better be prepared for a long conversation. :) Cute girl.
After the parade we waited for the rodeo to start. Hayden had fun playing on Grandpa's truck, but he was too chicken to jump off!
Then he got his first horse ride! Can you believe I let him do that? It's a good horse with kids though, and Derrick was right there.
He looks so tiny!
He really did like it, but he looks concerned here. What a cute face.
Then he saw some horses across the field so he decided to go play with them too.
Megs and Sky!
Hayden loves his Grandpa J. He is never scared of him and never has to warm up to him. He just loves to play with him and hang out with him the whole time. I love seeing how they are best buddies. I wonder sometimes if it is because Derrick looks so much like his dad.
The GardenHere is Hayden eating some peas fresh from the garden. He liked them, but I thought they were gross. They were just weird and only had three peas in a pod... and they were bitter to me. I gave up on our garden pretty much. I got a few zucchini and made some zucchini bread with it, but other than that I think I will just have to try again next year. Hopefully we will have more land to plant on.
Misc. Stuff
We found a park that we really like to go to. It has a huge field so Hayden can wander around and we can still see him. We took a pizza to the park and had a picnic one night. Hayden saw some boys (and one girl) playing football so he decided to just go join them with his bib still on and his sippy in hand. Then he came back and handed us our empty cans. Then he threw up all over our blanket so we went home.
One day he found this bucket and Derrick put it on his head. He just walked around with it on. It was so funny!
We went swimming last week. I got Hayden ready and greased him up with sunscreen. He won't keep a hat on and his hair is really thin so I had to rub sunscreen on his scalp too. His hair went crazy!
It took forever to wash out too. I decided we are just going to let his hair grow out until Halloween so he can be Baby Einstein or something. It's really thin, but it sticks up like crazy.
He can now eat with a spoon and fork by himself. He looks messy here but he actually does a pretty good job most of the time! Look at those gorgeous blue eyes!
He now has all his teeth until he turns two! HURRAY!!! No more teething! We are all relieved.
This is what happens with Daddy gets you dressed. I told Derrick we didn't have any more clean clothes but he said he could find something, but that I had to just let him pick it and he had to wear it out. So here is what we got... HAHA. I normally would just let him go out like that since I just don't care and I told Derrick I would, but we were going to a wedding so we compromised and I changed his shorts to some plain navy blue ones.
We are being invaded!
Um..... we have Hobo Spiders! EWWW!This is the trap behind our freezer. Enlarge the picture to get the full effect. These things are huge. We have caught 5 in this trap, one in the living room, and Derrick killed three. Read this website about Hobos and you will want to die. I can't believe they are in my house! They are poisonous and scary and fast.
We also were invaded by ants! Once in the dining room and once in the entry way. Both times I found Kix in the area! Thank you Hayden. Don't worry, they are gone now.
The Baby!
I am now 19 weeks. My belly is finally starting to change from chubby flab to baby bump. I really hate the awkward stage where you notice people glancing at your tummy a little longer than normal, but they don't want to say anything, just in case. I don't blame them really. I never dare ask until I can tell they are about ready to burst.Plus we went in for our ultrasound today!!! I always love seeing the baby. The ultrasound tech was really nice and explained everything that we were looking at, which was good. However the baby was folded in half so it wasn't really cooperating on letting us get cute pictures.
Here is a foot. I so love baby feet!
Here is an arm.
Sorry this one is crooked. That's how it came out when I scanned it... I love that our doctor's office can switch over to 3D too. The first is the face and the second is the legs. I think the legs are so cute!
And here is the money shot. IT'S A GIRL!!!!!
Can you believe it???? I can't. Derrick had me convinced that if we ever had a girl, it would be after we had a bunch of boys. I am really excited and can't wait to get started with shopping. I haven't bought a thing yet and am feeling a little unprepared.
So that's all. Thanks for reading.
On to Rocky!

Yay for a baby girl! Boo for spiders. Yay for the argyle/plaid outfit too. Oh my gosh Erin...you are going to have SO MUCH fun shopping for this one. Be careful...it can be slightly habit forming. Don't say I didn't warn you. :)
How exciting!! Have you thought of any names? I love all the pics, especially the sunscreen in the hair shot. Classic.
YAY!! a girl!!!! I can't wait to meet her! Okay, so if I ever find a hobo spider in my house, I'm going to puke. They are nasty. I hate spiders. Those pictures of Hayden are so cute. I love the one with the bucket on his head! haha. Seriously, he was so good for us when we watched him, you have a very cute little boy.
Glad to see you still alive! Seems as though we keep missing eachother!
That is so awesome you are having a girl. I am sure it will be tons of fun shopping for a girl. I am always tempted to buy cute girl stuff and I don't have any kids or expecting any kids!
P.S. Love all of the pictures of Hayden!! He is getting quite the personality.
