about a bajillion pictures

I just have a ton of pictures to show off, because I'm a lame blogger lately and keep forgetting. (I say that a lot lately, don't I?)  Anyway, they're pretty much out of order and just from random events in the past few months.

Owen woke up with his first case of bed head.  Just a little  on the side sticking up.  It was adorable.  He has the most hair out of any of our babies.  I love him.  He's so funny.  You can see his teeth really well here.

We have horses in the field behind us, and they come up next to our fence sometimes.  They always get spooked though, and run away.

We surprised our kids with a swing set! I think this was as much a gift for us as it was for them. :)  Now they have something to do in the backyard all summer, which will be lovely.

Derrick put it together after they were already in bed, so we just waited to see when they would notice it.  Hayden looked out the window the next morning and just stared at it for a while.  I thought he'd be so excited, but he just turned to me and said rather calmly,"Why did you buy that park thing?  Did you get it last night?" When I told him that, yes, we got it yesterday for them, he was only concerned about the fact that we left the kids home alone to go buy it. (We didn't of course.)  Then Halle woke up and he told her, "Hey Halle, there's a swing thing in the back yard." It was comical how anti-climactic the whole thing was.  I thought for sure they would be jumping for joy!  Halle was more excited and hurried to get dressed to go play.  They spent most of the day there.  The favorite is the double swing/teetertot thing.  What is that really called?  As a kid we called it the teetertotter, but there is an actual seesaw on this that goes up and down.

More cute baby.  Sitting up!  He's a pro now.

He fell asleep on my bed so I sat in my chair during his nap.  He poked his cute little head up to smile when he woke up.

One day we got a knock at our door.  Hayden looked out the window and saw eggs.  I had seen something like this on pinterest, so I waited a second before I opened the door.  Unfortunately, the little girl who had dropped the eggs off and ran had forgotten to leave the bucket and paper, so she was just on her way back up the stairs when I opened the door. :)  The sign said "You've been egged!" and there were eggs all over the lawn to go search for.  Cute idea!

This is what they were doing while waiting for the pizza to cook on the night I went to urgent care.  Making faces and being rather cute!

Buddies.  Owen finally likes his daddy.  They just have to get to a certain age where Mommy isn't the only one who can comfort them.

This was a funny story.  I often put Owen in the back carry of my Boba when I'm cooking or cleaning the kitchen.  One night Halle wanted to be held, but I was busy, so I put her in the Boba.  She loved it!  She pretty much just talked my ear off the whole time.  Then she had me turn on some music so we could dance together.  Then she fell asleep!  How sweet!

Derrick and I got fillings on the same day!  It was hilarious.  We kept laughing at each other, which would make the other laugh even harder because we looked like this when we smiled.  Derrick said I looked like Two Face. It was so strange.  Even my eyelid was numb, so I couldn't close it all the way and my contact kept drying out.

Derrick took the kids to his parents' house when I had a 3 day training, and Aunt Brandi brought them sleeping bags.  They love them! Still sleeping with them! Hayden usually gets inside it like this too.  I don't know how he does it.  Too hot and claustrophobia sets in for me.

More cute baby.  He's 8 months now! How did this happen?  4 months until a first birthday party!

Spaghetti

New car seat he got last month since he's ginormo.  At the beginning of this month when I took him in, he was 21 lbs.

This post was so fun Erin! Sometimes the jumble of pictures and events make for the best posts.

That swing set story is so funny. Darn kids spoil it when they don't act excited enough, right?!? But it looks like they are having so much fun - good picture of Hayden on the slide.

I love the picture of Halle in the carrier - so sweet. And I have to admit, I was laughing out loud at the picture with the "numb" faces. :)

My two favorites! The story about the kids and the swing set. I love that things are not nearly as exciting as we think they will be.

I love the faces you and Derrick made! It made me laugh out loud!
