Here is Hayden after church the first time he went to Primary! I was so excited and nervous for him. I know he is really shy, and I was afraid he would cry the whole time. Especially since Derrick and I teach Primary, so he would be able to see us, but not sit by us. His primary teacher came over the day before to meet him, and so I told her about my concerns. She was very helpful and made sure to help him be comfortable. He had a bit of a hard time when Derrick sat him down on the first row. He kept looking back at us about to cry, but after a while he was just fine! After class when I went to pick him up he showed me this cool door hanger he had made, and told me about the "cool crackers" they had in class. He loved it. He did even better this week! Instead of looking back at me about to cry, he just looked at me and smiled a lot. He didn't really participate, but I'm sure he'll get there! And even better, I didn't cry at all like I thought I would! How did I get to be old enough to have a little sunbeam? He's just growing up so fast lately. He'll say something entirely too smart for his age, and I just look at him and have flashbacks to all the nights I rocked him to sleep and how tiny his little legs were when I changed his first diaper.
And now for the baby details. As you can see, Hayden is very excited for the new baby, and he's been drawing pictures of all five of us.
To answer the common questions:
Due date?
I'm due August 10, which makes me 11 weeks right now.
How am I feeling?
I'm feeling pretty good this time! I had a little bit of nausea (imagine the car rides to Utah and back...bleh) and I still have my rough moments, but for the most part I feel tons better than I did with the other two. I am so so grateful for this, I can't even say it enough. I am, however, absolutely exhausted a lot and need my daily nap or I fall asleep when Derrick gets home, before I can make dinner. I am also HUGE. This is not an exaggeration. People have been asking me since about 9 weeks. This is very different for me. Has anyone else experienced this with their third baby?
What do the kids think?
They are very excited. Halle pokes my belly and says, "Baby in there? Aww I lub it!" Hayden asks all sorts of questions like how big is it? When will it get here? Why are you so hungry Mommy? :) I think they will be great helpers.
Was this planned?
(This is always an odd question to me...but people ask it and I know everyone wants to know so...)
Yes. We had planned to wait until the summer at least, but you know how my life goes. I don't really get to plan - Heavenly Father does. So we knew it was the right time for baby #3 before we had originally planned.
What was my reaction?
Complete and utter shock. I was shaking and pacing, and, well, I thought I was going to puke. But I was really happy when the shock wore off! It all happened so fast...just like with Halle it only took one month so I didn't have time to let it all sink in quite yet.
Derrick's reaction?
He was pretty shocked too. I could tell he was happy, but he just sat on the couch and was kind of quiet. He's ok now as long as he doesn't think too much about sleep deprivation. :)
Do we know where we will be living when the baby comes?
Nope. And I really wish I did. Patience.

Hayden is so handsome! I'm glad he likes sunbeams! Congrats on the new baby- I think it's cool how honest you are about the reality of it. I sometimes want to poke out my eyes when I keep reading about about how wonderful and cute babies are... barf. I guess it's because I'm not there yet, but nonetheless, I like that you are realistic and honest. You don't make it sound like some fairy tale that really can be more like a nightmare! :) Congrats, I hope that you stay feeling good for this pregnancy!
I'm only 13 weeks now and I already can't button up any of my pants...I haven't broken out the maternity clothes yet, but I'm sure it's only because I'm in denial. I'm still hoping I can fake it for at least a few more weeks. :)
Congrats girl!! Can't wait to see #3! I swear it was yesterday that you and Derrick knocked on our door and you were pregnant with Hayden! Now he's a sunbeam?! Holy cow, where does the time go! This newborn stage is killin me, I constantly ask myself "how do people have more than one kid?!" Way to go, haha!! Hope you feel good and this pregnancy isn't too bad for ya!
I was huge with my third, too. I think it's because your muscles just give up earlier. :) But really, I felt even bigger with my third than with my fourth, so who knows.
Congrats again!
p.s. Hayden is a darling and very well-behaved Sunbeam. :)
Congrats on your Sunbeam! Isn't it awesome to see them do so well in Primary?! And Congrats on expecting! So glad your feeling better! Yes Patience and Faith and things will work out, I know they will. Good luck!
Congrats you guys! I was wondering when the next one would make his or her appearance:) August is a great time to have a baby. We areso happy for you!
Your kids are growing up so fast!! Halle looks just like a miniature Erin! Congrats on the new baby! I'm glad you feel better this time and hopefully the exhaustion will wear off soon.
CUTE picture of Hayden! It's crazy that he's barely going into Sunbeams, but I always forget that he is 6 months younger than Claire. Claire is a CTR - so weird! :)
And congratulations again on the baby - I know what you mean about Heavenly Father intervening. :)
Awww...I want to see your pregnant belly so I can see what you're talking about. :)
I am so happy for you guys.
And yay for Hayden doing so well in Sunbeams!
Congratulations!! I remember Hayden on his first day of nursery, I can't believe he is growing up so fast. Hey I just had a few questions for you. Is Halle still allergic to dairy? If so what are some of your favorite recipes for dinner that the whole family can eat? I feel like we eat the same four meals at our house, and am feeling really stumped when I try to look for new recipes without dairy that Camry will like. You can email me at raylynk@hotmail.com. Thanks!!
Oh Erin! You comment made me sad for you! I know how you felt, I didn't even want to try on the next size up because I'm in denial :).
Max's reflux is tricky. He never spits up, maybe like 3 times in his life, but he wasn't napping and cried a lot. My ped started him on zantac and that didn't do much, the we tried prilosec (because of stupid insurance reasons) and I swear it was worse. He's now on prevacid and I can tell after 5 days he's doing better. We still have some bad days, but better for the most part! I remember poor Hayden couldn't keep anything down! I know you of all people understand the reflux woes!
