First Day of Nursery!

I can't believe she's already big enough for nursery!  Sunday was her first day.  I tried to get her to hold still in the corner for a picture before church.
But she quickly decided she was bored of me and wanted to go get in the car with Hayden.  Do you just LOVE her pigtails the way I do??
I actually helped sub in nursery today so I got to see how she reacted.  It was not that great.  She usually cries for babysitters, so I was expecting lots of tears.  She did ok since I was there, but she did spend quite a bit of time in my lap.  Mostly she and Hayden fought over toys and then she would throw a fit and cry on the floor. It's a very structured nursery and she is going to have a hard time sitting whenever they want her to sit... but she will learn.  Hopefully she won't have a meltdown when I just leave her there next week.  I used to look forward to nursery so I could sit and enjoy relief society.  But now that I'm in primary, I chase around a bunch of kids anyway!  I'm sure our primary class will run a lot more smoothly with both of us able to help out, instead of one of us teaching and one of us trying to keep Halle quiet during her usual nap time.  I look forward to that.

I'm sure a lot of you can relate to the problem of kids falling asleep in the car on the way home from church.  They are impossible to transport to the crib! Halle always wakes up, so she basically doesn't get more than a 15 minute nap on Sundays.  We could not take it anymore.  Derrick joked that we should just bring their car seats in.  I thought it was one of the most brilliant ideas I had ever heard.
So we just propped her up against the crib and she slept for hours!  It was amazing.

haha, that is hilarious! We have carried Maddie into the house in her chair before but only because we needed to leave the chair somewhere... that really is a brilliant idea.

genuis! I am so glad it worked so well. I can't believe your baby is in nursery either!

Do you think she may even do better when you aren't there? And yes...those pigtails are SO cute! :)

She is super adorable in the pig tails. Claire is cute with pigtails, but not like that. I remember when she was 18 months and I couldn't get enough of the pigtails. They aren't as cute long. :)

I love the carseat idea. Linus falls asleep in his all the time. Luckily he is such a deep sleeper that I can take him out, bring him in the house and lay him down and he'll go back to sleep for an hour or more. He's amazing. Remember all those crazy pictures I took of him when he was a newborn and wouldn't wake up? Yeah....
