May Flowers!

I am not the cute type of mom who is always getting down and playing with the kids.  We aren't always going on fun excursions. I hate taking them to the library because they terrorize the place, and I always end up wondering why I even bother.  I know that I really need to focus on spending more quality time with them and teaching them.  Hayden will be going to preschool soon.  I want to cherish these last few years before life gets taken over by school and they are not all mine anymore.  My friend Delia did something really cute with her kids a few years ago, and I have wanted to copy it ever since.  So this is my version!

I made these flowers out of felt and clothes pins.  I haven't done this yet, but the plan is to make strip of paper  for every day that says the activity we are going to do and attach it.  Then Hayden can pull it down so it will be exciting for him and he can distinguish it's something special he gets to do.  Hopefully I will get the strips of paper up tomorrow. For now I'm just looking off the calendar but we will be using these for months so I'm sure we will get our use out of them.

May 1: We went to a free matinee and then out to lunch.
May 2: Hayden wrote letters to his grandparents and mailed them out.

I always try to include Halle in the activities but she usually doesn't care.  This day she just wanted to play peek-a-boo with me. I love her.
May 3: We went outside and blew bubbles.
May 4: I'll update this when I can remember
May 5: We made a volcano out of baking soda and vinegar.  Hayden loved this.  He was afraid it was going to get him.
May 6:  Texture table.  I put some flour, sugar, corn starch, oats, powdered milk, and grape nuts, and some other stuff on a pan and let them touch and feel all the different textures.

May 7: We worked in our garden so they played in dirt

More to come when I empty my camera cards!

Cute idea, I love it. You should send me all of the ideas so I can do them with Spencer. He would love it.

That is such a great idea. Those activities sound super fun. Where do you come up with them? Cause I don't think I could cOme up with such fun and easy things to do :)

How creative... I forgot about those volcano's. What a cute mom you are!

Um...Yours is hands down WAY cuter! What great and simple ideas that are easy to keep up with. I love it! We are doing a volcano pretty soon here too.

Reid either doesn't want to do what we are doing or he wants to be involved in EVERYTHING - i.e. scissors - yikes. So I get the whole balancing between two kids learning levels too.

P.S. Your garden plot is so big! How exciting!
