easter

Good morning, Mr. Hayden.

A tradition of Derrick's family that we continue is the hiding of the Easter baskets.

He found them!

And doesn't care what he has to destroy in order to get to it.

The kids got a spring outfit with shorts, a church outfit, some sand toys for playing when we work on our garde, some bath toys, and a Reese's egg.  (I love good deals!)

Halle had to get in on the action.  She found hers, but the only thing she cared about was her bath toy.

But then she found out that the eggs had crackers in them so that's all she cared about.

Between conference sessions we hunted for eggs.

Hayden ran around and found all the eggs

While Halle ran up and down the sidewalk saying, "Uh-oh!" whenever her new shorts that are way too big fell down to her ankles.

Then she found an egg and ran around eating all the crackers. Yes, I put crackers in the eggs instead of candy!  I found some Goldfish type crackers that were baby chicks - perfect for Easter.  6 eggs had candy in them, but they don't need more than that.  They already got some from the ward hunt, and I can't handle them on a sugar high anyway.

PS Thanks to both grandmas who sent Easter packages.  Our kids are so spoiled well loved. :)

Your header looks super cute.

I like the cracker idea. We left some empty and some with candy but the crackers would have been better. :) Your kids are so stinking cute and grown. That story about Halle fussing over her shorts was so funny and adorable!

I love Halle's shirt! So cute. Looks like you guys had a fun holiday. We haven't ever really done the whole hide the easter basket thing before but I think it sounds like a fun tradition... that I might have to start.
