"Me do it!"

Hayden just said his first prayer all by himself!

Here is what he said:

Heavenly Father,
Grateful for family.
And Daddy.
And Mommy.
Grateful for our house.
Grateful for nursery.
and friends.
Grateful for food.
Grateful for this day.
Grateful for underwear.
Don't pee in underwear.
Help us to pee in the potty.
Help us to sleep good.
Have good dreams.
Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

I'm so proud!

You may be wondering about him praying about underwear and where he got that. When he was potty training we would pray for him every night that he would be able to learn it and remember to go in the potty. It worked. Prayers are answered, even when you feel really silly praying for certain things.

We tried to help him at first, but he was so insistent, and kept saying, "No, me do it!" (Which he says quite often lately.) He was proud afterward too. What a great day this turned out to be!

"I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth."
3 John 1:4

Tell Hayden that Grandma is so proud of him too and I echo 3 John 1:4 to his parents.

That prayer is so cute. I love it when they get it.... when they don't it's hard though! Claire has her days. She does say really fun things though. My favorite is this (and it totally doesn't make sense) "thank you for the prayers and please bless them." HEHEHE - I love it when she blesses her grandparents too - so cute!

I'm glad the praying for him to potty train worked... so did not for us. It is rather depressing to me when Claire's little friends who are younger than her potty train. *SIGH* I'm starting to feel like a failure. :( We prayed so hard about it and even Claire would pray every night and nothing changed. I guess Heavenly Father just likes me to struggle things out on my own - or maybe I don't have enough faith.

Oh, don't you even worry about me!! I wasn't trying to make YOU feel bad and you didn't make me feel bad either. :) It's just the whole concept that she is three and not potty trained that is depressing and it's something that I lament EVERY day no matter what.

Cutting Linus' hair did make me a little sad. :( Mostly the fact that he will be 1 in 2 weeks makes me sad. Babies grow too fast. He looks cute though.

Hayden is really growing up to be a smart boy - he has amazing parents that are doing a wonderful job with their two angels. <3
