Happy Birthday to ME!

This may just become another bragging post about my husband, because he seriously knows how to make me feel special. I think this was my favorite birthday ever!

Yesterday started out with him taking the kids so I could sleep until 9! It was wonderful! Then I was woken up by him and the kids bringing me breakfast in bed. He made me peanut butter pancakes, which are my favorite. Try this recipe: YUMMY. Hayden sang Happy Birthday to me all day. He's so cute.


Then he went to school and the kids and I got ready for the day. I decided to go to Target to shop for some clothes for Halle. Just as a side note... this girl is so chunky (in an adorable way of course!) She's only 8 months old, and she's wearing size 18 month pants!!! And size 12 month shirts. Wow.

So we spent some time there looking at all sorts of fun stuff, cause, hey, it's my birthday and I should stop feeling guilty about the huge stack of dishes and all the laundry that needs to be done at home. Well finally the kids had had enough and I knew I needed to tackle the mess so we went home. The kids were asleep in the car and I walked in the house to take the bags in.

"What the heck??" was what slipped of my mouth when I walked in. I thought it was a different house! The dishwasher was running, the floors were swept and vacuumed, toys put away, Scentsy turned on. I walked upstairs to find Derrick in a very clean and de-cluttered living room just smiling. He laughed when he saw me. He thought my reaction was funny I guess. What a huge surprise! He had come home home not too long after I left for Target. He was going to have me go shopping while he watched the kids for my birthday present. I don't have a cell right now, so he just had to wait for me and cleaned the entire house. I think I sort of ruined the surprise, but I have to admit that I much prefer him surprising me like this. When he has surprised me by coming home early before it scared the daylights out of me to see a man walking into my house in the middle of the day. It was so fun to come home to a clean house!

So anyway, he gave me a money card and sent me on my way to the mall. I felt weightless as I walked through the stores without carrying a giant diaper bag while pushing a cart with about 45 lbs of kid in it. I went shopping for myself for the first time in ages! I got home, changed into some cute new clothes, and the kids gave me their present. A day at a salon! I can't wait! Then we took the kids to our neighbor's house and we went to dinner. We had Texas Roadhouse, which was sooooo good, and then we walked around the mall for a bit to look at shoes for the both of us before we picked up the kids. It was such a fun day! My family is so good to me. Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes you sent me! (Liza and Norman, I got the birthday card you sent me. Thanks SO much!!)

After we put Hayden to bed Halle just crawled around on the floor and talked to me. She was being extra cute so I took some pictures. Here's my chunky baby.
