Hayden is two!

We celebrated Hayden's birthday last weekend. It turned out so fun! I know I make a bigger deal out of birthdays than most moms do, but I think it's so fun! I like doing the big party, making a fun cake, and doing a theme. I hope he can look back and see how special I tried to make his day. I can't even believe how much I love this little guy!

This year it was a ball party. Big surprise huh?

We set up a swimming pool with those ball pit balls.

The kids had fun throwing them into the basketball hoop. And all over the gym! We also set up a bowling game that was a present from my mom, but the kids were too young to really get the concept of an organized game like that.

He opened some presents.

And then got sick of opening presents and wanted to play with the toys.

He was introduced to a new sport... Now his new favorite word is "aceball." (thanks Ash and BryAnn)

His present from us... A bike!

He tried to show us how old he is.

We sang Happy Birthday. He tried to blow out the candles on his cake.

It took a couple tries and his friends had to help. :) You can kind of see the football cake I made. I'm sad that I didn't get a better picture of it. Liz, will you send me yours?

And then we fed them really sticky cupcakes and ice cream. I decided to make marshmallow frosting to make basketball cupcakes. I forgot that melted marshmallows are the stickiest substance on the earth and that I was feeding them to little kids.

They enjoyed it though.

Happy Birthday little one! I can't believe how fast the last two years have flown by. Thanks to everyone for coming and making his day so fun. We were so glad our family and friends could be there to celebrate with us.

Looks like a blast! I think that is such a good idea to have the party in the gym! I'll have to remember that. I bet the kids LOVED the stickiness of the cupcakes! Sounds yummy! Can I get the recipe? He's such a cute boy!

haha mom! I saw that. It actually wasn't so bad. Use HOT water to melt it, and let it soak for a few hours. OK, maybe it was bad.

So, I might just have to hire you to do Jane's parties from now on. I don't think I could ever pull off something that fun. And I definitely couldn't make a cake that cute.

Fun stuff!
