Spring Break!

Yes, it was forever ago, but I finally have all the pictures of what we did over spring break.

We were at my mom's on Hayden's actual birthday, so we decided to take him out to dinner (my personal favorite birthday tradition). We couldn't decide where to go, but finally ended up choosing Brick Oven which was perfect.

Because they had a guy going around making balloon animals! How fun!
He made a monkey climbing a palm tree.

Then they came to sing and brought him a bowl of ice cream with a sucker stuck inside. A little Hayden's dream because he could use both hands at the same time to get that sugar in his mouth!

"How old are you?"
"Two."

Still busy with the sucker.

We gave Halle a bath in my mom's sink that night. She is in love with water and she smiles and coos the whole time she is in the tub, always.

We also went back to Derrick's hometown for his Uncle John's funeral. It was one of those rare occasions where (almost) the whole family was together, so we decided to take some family pics while we were there.

The whole crew.
Uncle Greg, who loves all kids, and all kids love him. Hayden would run to him sometimes, and we wondered if he got him confused with Derrick. Hayden has started using people's names other than Mom, Dad, Grandma, and Grandpa. Greg was the first. His brother Alex was second. I was surprised that he could recognize them from pictures and say their names. (Actually, now that I think about it, Claire was the first and the one he always remembers.)

Derrick's parents. They are amazing people. Aren't they a cute couple? I love to watch them because they are always holding hands and being cute. Derrick is really protective of me, and he learned that from his dad. He learned from an early age that you do not talk back to your mom. Thanks you two, for teaching Derrick how to treat a girl.
