Here is Halle during some daddy-daughter time. Isn't she just cute?
I took Halle to the doctor yesterday because she is 6 weeks and her belly button was still oozing. It also had a little thing poking out the middle. So he said he had a umbilical granuloma which is a piece of flesh that didn't heal properly and get covered with skin when her stump fell off. So he burned it off with silver nitrate. I thought it would hurt her, but I guess since you don't have nerves in your umbilical cord it didn't hurt. She just looked around while he did it. It turned gray and yucky. You can see on the picture above how it stained her onesie. He said if it doesn't stop oozing after it falls off I have to take her back in because it could be connected to her bladder or bowels and that would be really bad. So just pray that it's not that! Then she would have to see a urologist.
I also asked him about the rash she has on her body. She has little red bumps which I thought might be a heat rash. He said it's more involved than that and she probably has an allergy. We always have used free and clear detergent and static sheets, so it's probably not from her clothes. It could possibly be her baby wash. I bought some Aveeno wash which he recommended. We had to use Aveeno lotion on Hayden and it really helped his dry patches and red bumps. Hopefully that works for her. It also could be something that I'm eating that gets passed through my milk. He said to try not eating eggs, nuts, and dairy. I think I will try getting rid of eggs and nuts to see if it's one of those before I have to give up dairy. Not because I love milk, but because it's in everything! (including chocolate) I would have a really hard time finding things to eat. So let's hope that her bumps will go away and I won't have to go to anything extreme like giving up dairy!

I hope it's not dairy too, its just so hard to give up the good stuff.
I'll pray that her belly button heals nicely and everything is fine, but if it does end up having to do with her bladder let me know and I can explain to you some x-ray exams she might need. but I'm sure you won't need to do that :)

I hope it's the baby wash too! Watching what you eat is a pain, I had to go seven and a half months with out chocolate for Ryan...not fun.
My little girls belly button was oozing stuff too- Luckily for me the doctor put this medicine on it and it went away. I hope that Halle's will too, and that it isn't anything to do with her bladder.
Oh I hope its the baby wash, giving up chocolate would just be way to hard. LOL-
Good luck-
Coming from a nurse's perspective, I would suggest trying one thing at a time with her for a few days at a time so that if it is only one thing causing the rash, then you know exactly what it is and you don't have to avoid more than necessary. Hope you find the cause and that it doesn't require anything drastic because we all know how much us mommies need our chocolate!!
She is sooooooooo cute. Her eyes are so big. I hope everything works out.
I hope everything works out! I had to give up dairy, because Hunter only gained 1/2 a lb. in 2 months. He almost dropped off the charts with his weight. But I've found that chocolate is still ok. :) And he doesn't mind cheese, and a yogurt here and there doesn't seem to bother him either. Sour cream, cream cheese, milk, and ice cream :( seem to be the worst. So if you do have to go off dairy, you may not have to give up EVERYTHING, hopefully. Good luck! She is a cutie!
Poor Halle! I'm sorry she's got an allergy to something. Does she seem fussy like something might be bothering her? That's so strange because you've always commented on how good she is and usually an allergy would cause fussiness. That's great, too, though! Keep us updated on how it goes.
I am so sorry to hear about her stump. I have never heard of that happening before. That is kind of worrisome. We will pray for her!
I hope you don't have to give up milk either. I love all things dairy too.
It must come with the name! We had very similar problems with our Hallie. Most definitely not fun! Hope everything works out well.
Yucky!
I hope that its all taken care of and that you she doesnt end up needing to go back in! Goodluck guys!
(she's so cute and getting big though!) :)
