Update on Hayden

Here is an idea of how our first few days without the binky are going:

That would be all day long. I hate to say how much I am hating this, because all moms deal with hard times, but this is one of the hardest I have faced yet. Hayden is miserable, and in turn so am I. It's so sad too, because when I was trying to rock him to sleep two nights ago (which I haven't had to do for a long time) he was trying to make sucking movements with his mouth. He just cries all day long... I could go into more detail, but I will spare you. Oh well, I guess. I hope it's over soon.

So on to good things, so I don't leave it too depressing around here. Hayden found a headband in my room so I put it on him and showed him what he looked like in the mirror. Apparently he really really liked it. It even got him to smile.

He also found a teether in his room from when he was little, so he has at least found something to put in his mouth, and that helps soothe him. He also has been carrying around his bear, which is usually wet with tears. In that last picture he was saying cheese for me.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that Sunday was Hayden's first time in the nursery. He did so well and didn't even cry! I knew he would like being with all the toys and the kids. His teacher said he was sad once in a while, but he was easy to distract. Derrick and I actually got to pay attention to a whole Sunday school lesson! It was strange, and we are very happy that it was such an easy transition for him.

I'm proud of you Erin. I know it's not easy but you can do it. And if you are strong now it will be a lot better later on. Let me know what I can do to help you. Call me if you need to talk or whatever.

I am so sorry about the binky withdrawals! I like that you guys had a burial. That is so cute. I love that you documented it too.

Yay for doing well in Nursery. Owen hated nursery until he was 2 years old. When they like nursery it is so great!

Good Luck Mama!! That is a hard time when the binky goes away. Paris had a really hard time as well. She just did not want to let go. It does get better. I'm proud that you threw them all away. As it is said... This too will pass... Hugs your way to help you deal with it!!
