My 28 hours...

This last weekend I went to my mom's to help throw a baby shower for my sister-in-law. It was a pretty big deal because I left Hayden home! It was my first weekend away! I was all set to enjoy it but then Hayden got sick that week. We think it might have just been teething though because it was a pretty mysterious illness and even two trips to the Doctor's office couldn't figure it out. I was pretty worried to leave him home because of this, but I knew his daddy would do a magnificent job of taking care of him, plus I didn't really have a choice.

So I got approximately 28 hours to myself! About 5 of those were spent driving, and 9.5 were spent sleeping counting the nap I took on Saturday. The rest of the time was spent on getting ready and having the shower. It was a lot of fun! I was in charge of the games, and my other sister-in-law, Marcie, was the genius behind all the cute decorations! Didn't it turn out cute? I love the dots on the wall and the lanterns.

These are the favors. Marcie got some Jones' soda bottles and covered them with with a label that said, "I am soda-lighted you could make it!" (or something to that effect).

My mom made a really cute diaper cake.
The cute mommy-to-be!
The food. We had stuffed french toast made with croissants, fruit kabobs, mini bagels, mini muffins, and milk and juice to drink.
I thought this present was so cute. We saw a company called Tiny Sprouts that back stitches names onto baby clothes, and we thought that we could do that! Well, apparently I could not, but Marcie could! It turned out really cute! The baby's name is going to be Florence.

Then I came home, and my own baby didn't want me anymore. He smiled when he saw me but he threw a fit when I picked him up. It was actually pretty funny, since I had seen him do the same thing to Derrick a week or two before when he was gone overnight. I guess it's just what he does when he hasn't seen us in a while!
