Hayden had too much fun on his birthday. Get ready for some pictures. Here he is the actual day of his birthday. Grandma made sure he had a birthday balloon and he got to open his first present. He loved that balloon and rolled himself up in it. He also loved the little piano/balls that you hammer into the hole.
I made a monkey cake for his birthday! I was so excited and it turned out so cute. I made a big one and some cupcakes for the guests, and a little smash cake for Hayden. We also had banana splits.
I made this banner for him. I got the idea from my friend, Delia, who did something similar for her son's party.
Derrick did a great job decorating with streamers. It was a jungle in there!

First we opened presents. He loved everything! Thanks everyone!
In the middle of it all he puked... I caught it in my hand. You can see how thrilled I was.
Time for cake! He started slow.
Then he realized it tasted good and got into it.
Then he smeared it all over his whole body. And got it in his eyes. And cried about it.
So we put him in the tub, another of his favorite things. Then he just hung out and played with some people while we watched the birthday video I made him, which you can watch HERE

Erin~ You are the CUTEST mom!! Everything about that party was sooo dang cute and fun-especially little Hayden!!! And that video! I was getting teary eyed watching it and he's not even my baby! You did such a great job!! Can I get the names and artists of the songs you put on there?
Hi Erin, I wanted to let you know that you did a wonderful job with Hayden's 1st birthday party! Everything was absolutely adorable, the decorations, cakes - you are a great mother. The video that you created is awesome! I love it. Soon, I'm going to learn how to make videos with my new scanner, printer. We just need to figure out which program to purchase. Anyhow, give Hayden a kiss for me. It really was a fun birthday party - one that you and Derrick will always remember and Hayden will have the memories in photos and video!

That was fun to see how much fun you must have had with the birthday party for Hayden. The slide show was adorable. I can't believe how fast time flys.

Yeah Hayden did have too much fun! Man, I wish I could get cake all over my face and it would be appropiate. He probably had that first taste of chocolate and decided it was better than gerber puffs! That cake was so cute, you are the best mom ever!! I want to see that video you made him. Oh yeah, I have that thing for the "wheat decoration" for you at my house, come on over and I'll show you how to make it!
